THE HOME / THE BRIEF

Room for a life to unfold.

A private family home overlooking the rice fields outside Ubud. Warm enclosed rooms, generous views and a garden offer different ways to be together or alone.

Designed for the owner and their future family, the home considers life as it changes through the day and over time. Shared rooms can open to the garden and views; enclosed spaces offer a quieter sense of retreat. The relationship between the two gives the family different ways to be together or alone.

THE DESIGN RESPONSE

Life, within
and beyond.

The brief is for the owner and their future family. Warm, enclosed spaces offer comfort and privacy, while the generous garden and rice-field outlook allow the home to open outward.

Public and private living areas are considered for both open and enclosed use. Material warmth, carefully framed views, and places for retreat allow the home to support different needs throughout the day.
