THE HOME / THE BRIEF

A home around a courtyard.

An inward-looking family home that opens to the landscape. A raised foundation and central courtyard bring privacy to daily life, while the garden, deck and pool become places to gather.

Daily life is arranged around the courtyard, with quieter rooms set apart from the shared centre. Views are framed rather than exposed. Sheltered spaces and planted edges create different degrees of privacy, allowing the family to gather without every room opening to the same activity.

THE DESIGN RESPONSE

Life, within
and beyond.

The raised foundation gives the family privacy without losing the outlook across the rice fields. The courtyard brings daily life together, creating a shared place to meet, play, and move between the rooms.

The garden, deck, and pool extend the home into the open air. Sheltered spaces and planted edges create different degrees of privacy, allowing the family to be together without every room feeling exposed.
